Coleoptera

My favorite collection of Spring 2010 NYFW has been Proenza Schouler. The strategic flashes of neon, the mature interpretation of tie-dye, and the similarities to iridescent beetles, all wooed me like an overzealous beau...besides I already have a love affair with neon yellow.

that is so true! it's totally june bug inspired.

PS: I'm starting to come around to the Rodarte collection. this post helped: http://laceandtea.com/?p=1252 :) different shots and angles make a huge difference sometimes! I still agree about the slow progression from season to season.

what an interesting analogy with beetles! you're right, the clothes are absolutely beautiful. what's particularly striking is that they have the potential to be extremely vulgar (tie-dye + neon) but they're carried out in such an intelligent way!

Loved this collection. When a west coast theme was mentioned, I was wondering if the collection would be based on tacky surfwear and flipflops but the designers really made a visually pleasing collection for spring. :)

It wasn't my favorite but I really liked it too, the colors were so rich and saturated (nice contrast to the usual springy pastels) and the feather detailing was amazing.
