Today I am rather de-bunking some of the illusions my pictures might cause to arise. I am showing my pinned dress under my skirt and revealing how I look before I remove superfluous items (note bag and headphones). By the very nature of taking your own photographs with a self-timer these images will be staged and as both model and conjurer I take liberties in what I reveal and what I hide. You see if I showed my bag to you every day chances are it would be this tote with it's little wave pockets, since it is very convenient for work. Also I feel the leopard print headphones while fun, rather destroy the romantic environment in the pictures created by the arching branches, strips of golden sun, and deep reds.
Outfit details: dress- vintage, skirt- secondhand, shoes- Marshalls, bag- the Stadium Swapmeet, belt- vintage, headphones- some super kawaii shop in Japan
what a cute outfit, I really like it :) sorry that I haven't comment that long but I was really busy... now I'm there again and I'm also posting on my old blog :)
i love the warm soothe of the colours. i'm fairly fond of that second photograph also!
what camera do you use?
oh and ps.... i didn't even know that about mk o! that's not very ladylike! but seriously, that's not pretty. and my uni housemates are such beautiful girls but make the most disgusting mess! i hate it.
I always think you do a lovely job of constructing your photos. However, I love those headphones - glad you included some pictures with them. And those shoes are divine!
You look fabulous as always darling. And those headphones are to die for. And you may have convinced me to go back and try and snag some shoes I saw at DSW a few days ago.
I love the secrets you're revealing in this shot - I'm always leaving out my bags, jackets, etc. in daily outfits, which just seems like an inaccurate portrayal of how you'd find me. These photos are so pretty, love the mum in your hair.
I'm always curious about other bloggers "behind the scenes" when taking photos and this is a lovely example of how stuff works, still photographed with your usual flair!
I think the contrast between the headphones and romantic vibe of the rest of the outfit is quite interesting. I usually look outfits that look slightly off and those headphones help to add a certain edge to the whole thing.
I always wondered if you used a self-timer because your pictures have a fairly natural quality. Ever since I saw those headphones on ModePass I wanted to know what they looked like. They are so cute!
Skirt is adorable! Thanks for the comment ps if you like sci fi novels you will looove Battlestar..I'm not normally a sci-fi kinda gal but this show is awesome :)
The leopard headphones are so cute! I have some in that shape but they are pink and white and have a skull on them, they are called skull candy. I love the outfit yet again. Great post x

Really lovely photos and style! I'll visit your blog often1!!
That's exactly what I like about self timers though, you can construct the outfit as you wish (plus no sniggering photographer..ie. my brother)
I totally adore your cute little bag and the headphones :).
I adore your tattoos. & yes, taking your own picture can be a little daunting. :] I love the skirt, as well.
lovely look, esp the flowers in the hair!

I love the behind-the-scenes style! That wine color of your skirt makes me ache for fall, though it is somehow a billion degrees in my apt...

Those headphones are really awesome. I love the red skirt and your photos are really quite lovely.
Showing a little bit of leg. I like, ow ow.
That tote is too cute.
I always remove extra things too when taking pictures. Like my messenger bag and iPod. I would look completely different as well!
Very clever. I like seeing just what you want to show.
Skirt is adorable! Thanks for the comment ps if you like sci fi novels you will looove Battlestar..I'm not normally a sci-fi kinda gal but this show is awesome :)
You look so great. The flowers in your hair really make the outfit pop. My friend would DIE for those headphones!
the earphones remind me of ladybugs for some reason so they fit into the surroundings :)

Cute outfit! I find the headphones especially exciting.. I love them, they're so eye-catching! :D
If I ever wanted to use a lace parasol, I think my mum would yell at me for being silly... :|
