I recently acquired three new fabulous pairs of heels, since I am convinced that it is time I grow up and learn how to walk in heels. I wore these out right away and they're super comfortable. They have the strangest shape to them on the bottom and make me feel as if I am floating.

Then, I had an epiphany--I realized what they remind me of and why I loved them so much--geta! It is precisely the same sensation I had from walking in geta (while in Japan). Love these! They're shaped like getas on the bottom, just the lines are smoothed. It's like walking on a solid wave...

Outfit details: shirt- secondhand, belt- secondhand, shoes- Seychelles via Amazon.com, bag- old army bag (it's actually my favorite bag, ever)

your shoes look like a more fashionable geta! although I do love getas... I adore your title for the post!
Lovely outfit, love the shirt, skirt and the shoes!
I love your outfits! and you heels are fab!
those dhoes from Japan are not comfterbal at all! my father bought me a pair a couple of years ago and it was nice wearing it on purim but thats it.
So charming! I love the geta/geisha comparison.
the shoes are gorgous.id never take them off if they were mine!love the skirt tooxx
i love your style :)
nice blog
I've never had much luck with heels either. Every once in a while I decide it's time to try them again but I always end up back in flats of some kind.
I wear things 2 days in a row sometimes 3 if need be or I just feel like it. :)With my big feet I am not sure I could walk in the wooden shoes! I like how your pictures are in a grocery store.
Love your outfit, but I LOVE LOVE your heels!
love those heels!
and the shirt and skirt combo is really great.
I like wearing the same skirt wit a different top again too! & yes, I need to practice walking wit heels more!
I really love your shoes :).
Lucky! its so rare to find heels that are comfortable.
Still love your skirt!! It's so pretty!
lovely! covet it all. also tag you're it, if you're in the mood.
I am completely with you on trying to wear more heels. I've been attempting too but it's been hard. I'm very much a flats girl. I liked what you said on WR about carrying flats in your bag. Very good idea.
Agh, i really need that AA skirt. Its everywhere in magazines in the UK, and i've heard it comes in lots of colours?
The shoes are great, and im glad they're easy to walk in. I'm hopeless in heels! :)
I adore your super market outfit shots!
i ADORE getas. i have two of my own and i should really wear them more. we should!!
Your shoes are really pretty- I love the black/grey combination (are they black and grey, or is it just me?). They sound really, really comfy.
This outfit.. AHH!!
I love everything about it, and the shoes.. SO GORGEOUS! I love high heels :D
Those geta things look pretty cool.. What're they for?
this is one of the best things about wearing platforms - that feeling of floating! you look lovely - i like your t-shirt and the fact that you took the photos in the freezer section! i would never dare to do that. it'd be too embarassing for me.
That's skyscraper high, basically! I think I'll have to make it a point to try some if I ever go to Japan :D
i like those shoes....

Can we see a side snap?
I adore your colour palette - it complements the supermarket perfectly!
I love, love, love your little diary. I stumbled upon it a few days ago & I cannot pull myself away. :] You have been linked, my dear. Au revoir!
I love the mustard skirt and I adore those shoes! And their comfortable heels!? triple score =]
Ohhh I have the same shoes that you wear in that pic but mine are golden!
Love the shot of you in front of the frozen food. Rad.
you're making me want that skirt even more, aren't you? dangerous thing considering i need to save for the Alexander Wang sample sale next week.. Boo!
needless to say awesome outfit. those shoes rock.
Lovely shoes, for someone with little heel experience you pull them off with aplomb and most importantly, you don't let the shoes wear you (as so many people do).
For some reason I think I'd feel safer walking in 5 in heels than getas. especially the really really tall costume-y ones, they seem like really cool stilts to me!
you make me want heels again!
oo cute, very vintage shoes
Love the shoes! You look really different in those picutres for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on. Okay, enough of being a creeper for now.
Thanks for the last comment you made, I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was nice of your school to create the orphanage, even if they didn't end up using it. Wouldn't it be odd if they still did? You get out of class and there are cute little orphans playing on the campus.
I like this outfit, and the skirt is always nice to wear. I like how you took photos in a supermarket :)
ah you're like me, i have so many heels but i never wear them
Your shoes are really great. Well, your skirt is obviously too lovely to stay in your wardrobe!
That's what it is! You're not wearing glasses. Okay, now I can stop thinking about it.
Those are beautiful shoes. I like the shot of you in the frozen-food section. :D
wow, lovely heels you have there! i'd like to walk in geta, your description sounds interesting...
I always always love your outfits! Your shoes remind me of origami, and I love that.
i love seychelles!
lovely photos!
btw, i have tagged you :)
Wow, I didn't know they were called Geta! You know what, these are so similar (minus the solid wave) to the ancient indian "Paduka"!
Good to know that you finally decided to include some heels in your wardrobe. The pair you have chosen looks sensible and smart. They do add that much more feminine grace to an outfit. But for me, it's flats any day. aND Not just because I tower over most Indian women even without heels. (We are not a very tall race of people)
i LOVE those shoes! so cute and dainty-looking.
Love love love your bag!
You look fantastic as usual.
Wow, the shoes! And such a chic outfit for grocery shopping, haha!
Surely they aren't as uncomfortable as geta shoes... I love Seychelles....!
Lovely outfit, I love this skirt, shirt, shoes but most of all the way you wear this belt!
I think that mustard skirt suits you wonderfully. It's a good colour for you. And i love the belt, i want something like that in watermelon to spice up my plain summer ensembles.
xx
I love the Seychelles and they look great with the outfit. It a great idea to shoot your pics in the supermarket, so much more fun than the average mirror in bedroom thing.
Lovely shoes and gorgeous outfit as always! I've linked you now ;)
I love that you are in a supermarket yes? It's such a cool idea, I might have to borrow it!
Sooooooo... did fall the first time you wore the Japanese slippers? They look scary! Okay may be not too scary, but scary enough.
I had chances to wear gets like these before, and these are the only times that I can't rush off anywhere having to walk with tiny steps in fear that I am going to fall on my face if I try to walk with large strides.
adorable lil shoes, love the posing by a freezer!
Ohh I love your shoes!!
I have the same feeling about heels: I feel I'm old enough to learn how to walk in those. But it's not easy...I also feel I need someone besides me to prevent me from fall down in pieces...
Awesome, I notice you even did the knock-kneed, pigeon-toed stance of any good Japanese girl for the photo. I love my geta and want to wear them all the time.
